At least I think that's what crashing it. Truth be told, I don't even know what that file is or what it's supposed to do, but since Norton doesn't say it's a virus, I'll assume it's not.
Anyway, I periodically get a message saying "wuauclt.exe has performed an illegal yada yada", after which the system crashes. Any idea on how to handle this?

| Wuauclt.exe is not a virus, it's actually a windows process. It has something to do with automatic Windows updates, so I'm guessing it's rather important. Don't know why it would be causing crashes, though, maybe it's a permissions thing, head-butting with your firewall? I'm pretty sure that if you want to do your updates manually, you can disable it in Services. |
