One day, from no apparent reason, my computer started behaving oddly. From time to time I get pop-up error message box saying explorer.exe referenced memory location 0x00000000, which could not be read" . I have not installed any new software recently nor put new hardware in my machine. Is there any solution to this or I will have to reinstall windows.

This is a quite common problem without general solution. You can try a few things, but if they dont help then reinstallation is imminent. You can check your system for viruses and spyware. Also try to repair Internet explorer. Go to command prompt and write following rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "Path to your Internet Explorer Setup.EXE" /g or try reinstalling it. By the way, Microsofts web site has some good articles about repairing and reinstalling IE. You should check them.
