This is making me insane! My Windows XP has been constantly restarting for no reason. I don’t know what to do, because it just goes off, without shutting the system down properly. I have lost numerous documents that way and I have a pile of work to do and I don’t dare because all my efforts can disappear in the nick of time. How to fix this?

I wouldn’t like to make you upset, but this problem may not be as simple as it may seem. Sometimes when HDD is damaged or when it has bad sectors, this restarting without proper shutting down the system happens. This can be dangerous for numerous reasons and you may lose not only the document that you are working at a time, but all your files stored on HDD. That’s why I suggest you to try and back up all the files that you have on the HDD and then have your HDD tested. If the back up process fails because of restarting, then ask the guys that are going to service your PC to try and save the files you have on the HDD. And maybe your system has only contracted a virus on the internet. Anyway, do something about that as soon as possible.
