I am having troubles with Windows 2000 lately. I have Windows 2000 Professional with all 4 service pack installed. It recently started to freeze without any apparent reason. I can play a game, surf internet or write something but it will freeze anyway. Win2k is not freezing in some regular interval but randomly. Do you have any suggestions?

I will assume that your Windows 2k is properly protected with antivirus and antispyware software that is regularly updated. If this is a true then you should check CPU and motherboard temperature because this looks like overheating issue. Open computer case, start computer and see if fans are working properly. If they are not, either clean them or replace them.
