I installed windows 2000 successfully. When I tried to install Linux on the second partition, system failed. I mean, I only tried to install it, I didnt copy any of Linux file. So how could that affect my Windows system? I cannot think of any reasonable solution, and I dont want to format my hard disk? My DMI was working in the background and it didnt report any errors. I cannot boot my system on any other system. Any ideas, suggestions?

| Well, you think that computer didnt copy any of those files, but it actually did. The problem youre experiencing is due to the lack of hard disk space. Thats my opinion, dont rush into conclusions. You need at least 4 Gb of hard disk space, and 256 Mb of RAM. So think again, how much free space do you actually have? When you inserted Linux boot cd, system started copying Linux files, so when the system realized youre a little short on space, he didnt have many options. Your only solution is t format you drive and to install everything again. Next time make sure you have enough of everything, and preferably install Linux firstly, then go to Windows. This is because later it will be easier to set up your primary OS. And whats your Linux distribution? If you want to recover your data, I suggest you to install partition magic. Run check disk and if you can work it out. Good Luck and dont mess it up next time. |
