Hello. I am suspecting that I have some bad blocks on my hard drive. I wanted to analyze hard drive but I was not able to find scandisk on my Windows XP installation. Is there any alternative if there is no scandisk in XP. This is quite important for me because I fear I will lose files if I do not check and repair hard drive. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi. There is no scandisk in Windows XP. This program has been renamed and it is now called CHKDSK. So, that is an alternative for scandisk in Windows XP. You can run it from command line if you want or you can access it if you right click on hard drive icon in My computer, choose properties - tools and click Check now button in Error checking group box.
