Hello, I am trying to use every single benefit out of my new wireless internet connection. I am Linux newbie, but I have already dig out what is Madwifi (arghh, such names are killing me) taught that was hardware, but it is just a driver name family, heh. Now which chip is most reliable? I need to know the best combination. I am expecting some help, please. Thanks.

Greetings. Well, a lot of people are using combination of Atheros + Madwifi. But that just doesnt have to mean it is the only chip, 100 great for use with Madwifi. First of all, you must use 2.4.32 kernel or above. Thats very well checked information. Maybe youll need to recompile the same kernel again. And as a matter of fact there are even over 60 manufacturers of hardware that can work with Madwifi correctly. There are 5 latest versions of Madwifi. From v0.9.0 to v0.9.3. Try them all. But, (in Linux But always exists) Madwifi + USB wifi adapter, can really give you a lot of headache. In other words, not very compatible.
