Hi, I have an unusual driver issue here. I have an HP printer/scanner connected via a USB port, and it used to work perfectly until I (for some reason) chose to update Windows. Specifically, the MSI installer thing was updated, and during this process (or after it, I don't know), it seems it removed the drivers for the USB port that I'm using. Now I can't connect to the printer, and the Device Manager shows a question mark next to the port. I tried updating the drivers, but it says I already have the up to date version. I don't know what to do any more, some advice would be great. TIA.

What version of the OS are you using, and which printer model? According to HP, there are some issues with their drivers and a MSI update – apparently it is known to create an issue just like the one you described. Your best bet would be to 1) download all the drivers you can off the web, 2) remove the USB port completely from the device manager, and 3) restart the system, waiting for the hardware wizard to ask for the drivers, at which point you provide the fresh ones.
