| Hi there. I have small network at my home. My laptop and two more computers. I have mapped drive on my laptop and everything works fine, but when I plug in the USB pen drive it overtakes the drive letter thats mapped for the shared drive, and I cant browse the contents. It happens every time! How to make USB pen drive to use the other drive letter? Thanks. |

| Here is what you can try. Unplug the LAN cable or disable the wireless internet connection. Than disconnect the network drive. Plug in your pen drive to the USB port and see if the drive letter remains the same. Anyway, go to the disk management utility. Right click on my computer and select manage. There, you can change the drive letter of the USB drive to the other one. Set it to the drive letter P for example. When you did that. Unplug and plug the PEN drive again. If the P drive letter is still assigned to the USB drive, than map the network drive again and you will have conflicts no more. |
