Hello! I am planning to update my processor. I have Athlon XP 2800+ and I will buy Athlon Dual Core X2 3800+. Regarding the fact that manufacturer is same for both processor, will I need to change my motherboard. I am quite sure that I will not need, but I want to ask you just for any case.

Hello! It is same manufacturer for both processors – that is correct. But, still you will need to change your motherboard and I will explain you why. Your Athlon XP 2800+ uses Socket A on your motherboard. If you want to plug to your motherboard you will need AM2 slot ad this slot your motherboard does not have.
