Hello! My friend was upgrading his hdd to a new one (320 GB) so he gave me his old 80Gb. I wanted to put it as a slave hdd to my machine but it’s not detected! I’ve tried some other disks (some old 6.4 GB I’ve got) and that one works perfectly! I’ve thought that the 80 GB disk maybe died in the meantime, but it works when a friend puts it as slave in his computer. What’s the issue here?

I suppose your computer is rather old. It seems like your motherboard wouldn’t recognize the “big” 80 GB hdd. You should update your bios. Go to your motherboard manufacturer’s website and go to your mobo model, search for “bios update” or something like that. See if the new BIOS supports disks over 80 GB. Download the new BIOS and apply it if there’s a “big disk” support. Change your motherboard if there is not.
