Hey, don’t put yourself so down just because you are asking something you don’t know. No one’s born filled with all the world knowledge. Follow me here: Open OE ( Click Start / Point Program Files / Click Outlook Express). If it poses whether you want to open this account automatically every time question, make a choice by clicking on Yes or No. If you want to skip appearing of that question every time you use OE click to check the Always perform this check ..box, and then another checking for choosing the option that OE always go directly to Inbox, ‘cause that is where new email arrives so that setting make sense. To make folders and your contacts visible, go to View menu and click on Layout and check Contacts and Folders by click and then click OK. If you use Outlook pretty often Windows will put its icon on the Start menu. To make email account first you need to gather some information apart just knowing you email, which means to contact your ISP – Internet Service Provider and ask. Information you need are The type of e-mail server you use: POP3 (most e-mail accounts), HTTP (such as Hotmail), or IMAP, The name of the incoming e-mail server, for POP3 and IMAP servers, the name of the outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) and of course your account name and password. After gathering required information you are ready for starting a setting up of OE email account. Start OE, go to Tools menu, click Accounts. The Wizard will appear skip ahead to step 4, then click Add and then Mail to open Internet Connection Wizard. Will see Your Name page and there type the name that you want to represent you to others to whom you will be sending the mails in the future, and then click Next. On the Internet Explorer Address page type your e-mail address and then go next. Next one is E-mail Server Names page which you have to fill with information you gathered from your ISP in step 1, and then click Next( for HTTP e-mail server settings are slightly different – hotmail). Type your account name and password on the Internet Mail Logon page, and if you worry about people crashing in your e-mail account then click to uncheck Remember option, so then you will be always asked for password when you want to login. Click Next and then click Finish. Your Outlook Express is being set for sending and receiving mails. To Exit Outlook Express Do the same thing like for any other program ,on the File menu click Exit. Fast getting out from OE is ALT + F4. Hope I explained everything in simple way for you!
