I've read all the documentation, and it says I'm supposed to be able to get my system restored by using one of the bootable CDs they provided if I have a Toshiba CD drive. Well, guess what, I do, and it doesn't work! It keeps telling me "Wrong machine" whenever I put in that CD, which is just unbelievably cheeky, seeing as how it's the machine it came with. Anyone have a similar experience? Is there a way out of this?

You obviously either have a defective CD, or are trying to use it on a system other than the one it was made for. Oh, and I don't think it really matters if your drive is Toshiba or not, but that's beside the point. The point is, you might as well give up on trying to resotre from this CD, and do a clean format/install instead. (I'm assuming you've got important data backed up anyway…
