| Hello there. Me and my friend are fighting with some network difficulties for a few hours already. We had small game room, for about one week. Now the third computer has gone home, with his master, our third bud. There are two computers now, still connected but they are not working. The network is not there, we are still in the same workgroup, with the same IP addresses, which is ok, right? We were using CAT5 cables and we still are. And I am out of ideas why we can’t see each other without the third guy? Any answer might be good for the future. Thanks in advance. |

| I can see that you missed one thing, and that is HUB which is “gone” also. You see, you had to connect three computers together via network HUB in order to make a small and operational home network, right? You can do that with two computers and without HUB, and that’s what you two guys are trying to do now. But, in order to connect to another computer directly, you need twisted pair mode cable, sonny boy and that’s something different than the straight pair mode. Reconstruct the connectors and the wires on the both side by proper manual over the internet (you’ll find some 100%I am sure) and that’s it. Have fun. |
