Hello. I am in a mess. I tried to update my sound card drivers over the internet. I have found the proper site, founded the proper drivers, downloaded them, installed them but after reboot, which was required by the setup, my sound card is working but without any sound out from my speakers. I tried to roll back the drivers, but my computer says that there were no previous drivers installed. What should I do to get my sound back? Thanks.

This looks like you have missed the OS driver version. If you have windows XP installed on your computer, and you have used the Windows ME drivers instead of proper XP drivers, the situation like yours may occur. See if your volume sliders gone muted somehow, it happens. If they are not, than try using system restore. If your System restore is turned off, than try removing the drivers from the Safe Mode. After removal of drivers from the safe mode, you can try and download Driver Cleaner Pro. Great program. Than install the old drivers and enjoy.
