Hello. My name is John and I am inexperienced when it comes to networking. I have bought another desktop computer and together with it I bought router so both computers can access Internet at the same time. However, when I configured network I was unable to share files over Internet with popular file sharing programs. Can you tell me what should I do in this situation?

Hello John. This is usual problem when you are setting your first network with router. All you have to do is to open required ports on router and you will be able to share files over Internet. Write down ports that file sharing applications are using and consult router manual how to open these ports. After this everything will work fine. If you have any troubles with it then post router model here and I will explain to you how to open ports for popular file sharing applications.
