| Hello. Since I am still very new user (noob) I have so much things to understand and to learn. Now, what confuses me here is the memory. You see, I have heard that every hard drive has its own memory. Ok, I know what is the storage, but how many different types of memory are there? Hard drive has it’s own memory. That’s the rumor I have heard few day a go, and I really don’t understand some things. I am looking forward to hear some explanation. Thanks in advance. |

| Hi there. The memory on the hard drive is actually the Buffer level. It is measured in bytes, yes, but is slight more different than regular memory. There are hard drives with 2, 8 and 16 megabytes of cache or buffer memory. And when the hard drive has more of it, the more faster it is. Hard Drive buffer is nothing else but a place where all data comes trough before copying to another destination. Without buffer, we can’t expect any order or performance. |
