| Hi there people. I have lost the icon and the drive letter of my CD rom drive somehow. Who was the guilty one, me or my computer? Well, please don’t ask me this because I don’t know the answer. I tried to install new program from the particular CD but, the green light just flashes without any sign of data reading actually. How to set the CD rom drive icon back to its place? I tried to reboot couple of times but that didn’t helped at all. |

| I think that you should pay some visit to the device manager. From the safe mode. And when you enter there, all you need to do is to uninstall all IDE controllers for the both drives. After logon, windows will automatically detect the missing drivers and install new and fresh ones without some little prompt. It will assign the drive letters again, and you should be able to use your CD rom drive normally afterwards. |
