I have bought eight months ago external hard drive. It has 250 GB capacity, so I have stored a lot of important data on it. Few days ago I have tried to put two red leds on it. I wanted it to be cool. But, something went wrong. Now I cant start this hard drive at all. I am afraid that I will lose all my data. Should I reinstall system on it?

Reinstallation wont help you. As I understood you tried to glue these leds on it. Dont ever do such thing if you havent done it before! It looks to me that you have burnt out your hard drive. I can only tell you that you should go to your vendor (your warranty is still valid) and try to convince them that hard drive didnt burnt out by your fault.
