I don’t know how to increase the resolution on Fedora Core 4. My video card is Radeon 9800 – now, I know there have been some issues with ATi cards and drivers for Linux, but as far as I can tell, my drivers are the correct ones and the card is identified OK and it works perfectly well… except regarding the resolution issue. There’s no 1024 or higher setting that I can see. Is this configured somewhere else, perhaps?

In a way, yes. I’ll bet your monitor is detected as just “generic monitor”? This is actually OK, though you have to change it to “Generic Monitor at 1024 or Higher” )or something to that effect, I don’t know the exact wording). If you do that, and if your video card does really function as it’s supposed to, you should then be able to set the resolution at whatever it can support.
