I want to put up some images on my site, but I don't want anyone to be able to download and save them before they pay. Is there some way of protecting the images? I was thinking of having them appear in pop-up windows which would close as soon as you click on them (right- or left-click, no difference). Would that work? If not, is there a better option you could recommend?

I guess your approach would work against a casual visitor, but anyone who really wants those images can just find them in their browser's cache memory, and save them form there. A better approach would be to offer a sample image instead of the one (I'm assuming) you're trying to sell. Make it lower resolution, but make sure you mention that on the page so that the viewer would know it's not the real thing. You could also just print "SAMPLE" across the image somewhere so that it's obvious.
