Hello. I am about to install a unix based server. I have picked up Free BSD as a OS. First of all, I never had a possibility to configure anything alike, so far. That means, this is going to be my first time. I have just prepared BSD install CD, and I am ready to begin. I am expecting some tips and tricks from anyone. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I think that you have at least good way to start planning the install. This is the most important step, and first. You have experience with the user-based interface I suppose. You have messed with your machine with adding or removing software, or you were completely satisfied with the contents on the CD and you were just keeping your PC up to date constantly. Installing and configuring a server is not easy job at all to do, therefore there is no way that somebody can explain you how to do that in a few easy steps. You will have to find some conform literature and start to learn, believe me.
