| I have a Nokia Ngage, and I am trying to connect it to my Pc, but without success. Everything was working fine in Windows 2000, now Linux wont see it. Infrared works fine, but its to slow, so its out of the question. Now I had to install another OS just for the mobile. Bluetooth dongle that I am using is 2.0, maybe I need new version. Anyone have experience with Linux Bluetooth? Thanks! |

| In order to Linux recognize your dongle, you must synchronize your software. That means that if youre using Ubuntu 7.5 your Bluetooth version should be 2.5 at least. Go to the command line and type usr/src/linux/. Go to usb support and make sure that Bluetooth is enabled. I recommend you to read Linux troubleshooting documentation carefully. Then compile appropriate file into the module. Again, go to console and type hcconfig. On your cell phone be sure that file transfer is set up at the least speed. Connect it, and (I forgot, restart your system) and if you have done everything correctly, you should see new window on your screen. As far as I know, Ngage is not the best choice for computer use, because software is not very flexible. I use Sony Eriksson, and everything works so smooth. Cheers, and dont forget to unplug your device after use. |
