Hi there. I have bough new DVD-RW and I am trying to install it. I have never before done something like this and I have a problem with hooking up this DVD-RW. I have placed it in computer case and connected everything but Windows XP is not able to recognize it. Can you give me some advice?

Hello there. Do you have motherboard with IDE (PATA) protocol. If this is the case then you should check jumper settings on new DVD-RW before hooking it up. I must have different jumper settings then already connected IDE device on the same cable. Devices can be set in master and slave mode. If existing device is set to master then new DVD-RW have to be set as slave and vice versa.
