I got a pop up the other day telling me there was a critical security error in Mozilla Firefox and that it will make my computer vulnerable to something called DoS (Denial of Service) attacks. I did a web search and all I’ve found was a mention of a similar security vulnerability in Firefox 1.0.6! My version is much newer! What’s going on here?

Actually, this sounds highly suspicious, but not of actual browser errors, but of adware infection. You should find an adware scanner of some sort – try HijackThis first – and clear out your system. You should generally ignore all sorts of pop ups that you don’t know where they’re coming from, because they’re mostly scams.
