Hello. I think I may have a problem with my old Daewoo monitor. Its still working, but every once in a while, it sort of crackles and the whole screen suddenly gets a green tinge. This color overlaps all the normal colors, so it turns red to black, etc. I checked my video card and updated its drivers, and that wasn't it. SO I think the monitor may be dying on me. Am I right here? Or is it some sort of problem what can be solved without buying new hardware? Thanks.

It's quite possible that your monitor is failing, though you didn't specify exactly how old it was. However, this crackling sound that you mention makes me thing it might be a power-related problem. On some older models, when the power cable isn't plugged into the monitor properly, the connection sort of loosens and can trigger weird color changes on occasion. If you haven't already, you should check all the cables leading in and out of the monitor and make sure they are connected securely.
