I have an old MSI motherboard that supports no more than 4X AGP technology. Unfortunately, there is no way that I can find agp 4X card. Even the 8x is hard to find nowadays. Can I put a 8x card to a 4x AGP port without harming my computer? What else can I do?

You can freely run any 8x certified AGP slot graphics card on your 4x certified motherboard. The graphics card will run more slowly, but it will still run. No extra hardware or software preparing is needed for this operation. But, if you want a 4X however, you can try it on eBay, maybe someone is selling it.
