Hi, all. I may be just slow to catch on, in which case go on and flame me, but I recently discovered a strange feature in Firefox that may be seen as a major security weakness. If you go to Tools / Options / Security, you will see a convenient little "show passwords" button. If you click it, you will be shown a list of login sites and stored usernames, and with a single click, you will be shown all the stored passwords for these sites! Is this what they call "secure"? Just anyone can sit behind by monitor and see/alter all my passwords, just like that? What am I missing here?

Well, the thing is, you can always set the master password, in which case you will be prompted when you attempt to show all stored passwords. Still, I guess it would be safer if the master password option was on by default, set the first time you open the Security tab in Tools. The bottom line (and designer reasoning, I think) is, if you let someone use your machine directly, you've willingly opened yourself for all sorts of security hazards, and then all responsibility is on you. Browser features can't really do much in such a situation.
