Hello. My external Western Digital hard drive decided to stop working, apparently. Hard drive is in external enclosure and it is connected to computer via USB. When I start computer I can see drive light flashes but I can not hear head spinning, just some “click “ sounds. AM I right regarding external hard drive failure?

Hello. It seems that you are right and that your external hard drive is not working any more. Only thing you can try now is to save data from hard drive if it is possible. Connect it as a usual IDE hard drive with IDE cable. Do not forget to set jumper correctly and use some good data recovery software like “Get Data Back”. Hopefully you will be able to recover something from failed external hard drive.
