Hello! I have made from my old Maxtor 20 GB internal hard drive external hard drive (I just put it to external enclosure). But, since yesterday I have some troubles. Namely, I am not able to open some of files and folders on this hard drive and I can hear some strange sounds from it (some weird clicking sound).

Hello! I assume that your hard drive is too old. As you know, nothing can last forever. So, I think that your Maxtor 20 GB hard drive ended its useful life. I suggest you to backup all needed data from it (if you can) and to buy new external hard drive. I know that this is not good news, but that’s the way it is.
