OK, here's what I did and what happened, and I hope someone will be able to tell me how to make things right: My video card was overheating, so I opened up the case to have a look at it, and saw the fan was getting clogged up. So, I took it off, cleaned it, and put it back in. While I was at it, I also did the same for the fan on the CPU. Then I put it all back together, turned it on and – Error Loading Operating System! Won't boot! I mean WTF, I never even touched the HDD, and now it can't find the OS installed?! I thought the cables might be loose, but I double checked, and everything's still plugged in. The boot sequence in the BIOS hasn't been changed. What's going on?!

Well, you could've damaged the MoBo wile making the interventions. I assume no direct contact has been made, no screwdriver slipups and the like? If that's so, then the first place I'd look would be the IDE cables and connectors. Even though you're sure they're plugged in, try replacing them with new ones (they're cheap). If that doesn't help, try switching the motherboard connectors of your HDD and CD/DVD drive, see if it'll boot that way.
