Hi there! I tried plugging my fathers printer to my new computer and was surprised that it was working. Still, there is a problem with it. It’s making page breaks on some strange and undesired places. What do you think could be causing this and do you think I could fix it somehow? Thanks a lot for any kind of advice you might provide me with! I would really like to make this printer work!

You didn’t specify what you mean when you say ‘strange places’. I’ll just tell you what I think may be the problem but I can’t be sure since you didn’t give us enough info. I guess that the printer is a bit old. The printer ports on newer PCs are too fast for such printers. You should change this in the CMOS configuration by switching to a Standard Printer Port (SPP) instead of the new ECP port that is now default and is really fast. The SPP is much slower and I suppose this might solve your problem.
