| I am using this antivirus program called Spy Terminator. The thing is its time limited, so during a 30 day trial period I managed to download some updates. Now, when the trial period has expired I dont know if it can provide me with real time protection. What do you think about that? Zone Alarm is also pretty good, but I am not sure if I could use my previous updates with it. What about a windows real time protection? Could it be useful for some period of time, until I manage to work this out? |

| There is lot of free antispyware software on the internet, so why not downloading some of these. Like NetGuard which is good as the ZoneAlarm. Firewall software could slow your system down, so be sure to have enough RAM memory. I personally tested lot of this software, and I can tell you that ZoneAlarm and SpyTerminator are the most requiring. There is a great piece of software called System mechanics which enables real time protection for all of these trial applications. When your trial period expires, you cannot use those virus definitions, but files are still there in your installation folder. So the trick is to use them in the most efficient way. Real time protection still works, whether youre using updates or not. Application will notify you if it finds some unknown virus. So, yeah, that is real time protection, you can still block those insecure files. You must use a broadband connection if you want to work real real time. With dial-up it will take ages to download updates. Personally, I am using an AOL antivirus and I am satisfied. |
