I don't know where to describe the problem, really. I've had this Dell for about 3 years, and never had a single complaint. And now it's just … dead. I try to power it up, and there's no response, no beeps, nothing. The battery is fully charged, and I tried it on the line as well, but no change. I thought it might be the CMOS, but I replaced it with another, confirmed to work, and no change. I don't know what else to try, so I'm open for suggestions.

It's really impossible with to tell any certainty from this much info, but it sounds like a FUBAR MoBo or PSU. If you have the hardware and the time, you could try replacing one or the other, but there's no guarantee it would work. Just in case something got loose somewhere inside, try disconnecting everything and then putting it back together. Otherwise, I'd start thinking about a replacement.
