It seems that my Athlon processor is damaged. It was in its socket for a couple of years and the system started freezing more and more. I checked the temperatures, CPU was more than 50 celsius. I decided to remove the processor and reapply the thermal grease. It looks like I have damaged some of the CPU’s pins. My computer won’t boot up any more. How can I fix this?

The pins on CPUs are very tiny and there is a chance that you break them if you try to straighten them. You need to be very careful when you do it. If you are not sure how to do this, give it to someone who is more experienced. Good luck.
