converting avi to mpg problem

I have several short movies ( around 30 minutes each) in avi format and I would like to convert them to mpeg so I can watch them on my home TV from DVD player. I would really like to know if such thing is possible and would be very grateful if you could explain to me how it's done. Thank you in advance for your effort and time in solving this problem.

Hello. Converting avi to mpeg is not a problem. You just need some software that can do this job. If you have Nero burning software then you do not need anything else. It can convert avi to mpeg when you select that you want to build a VCD disk. You can also edit menu that will be shown on DVD player. It is easy and if you ran across some problems you can always post back.
