I connected my PC LAN (3 desktops w/Win XP) through an ADSL router (Linksys) to a console (chipped Xbox). I'm pretty sure all physical connections are OK, I double-checked everything. However, I can't get FTP access to the Xbox, nor can I see it in the network setup. The subnet mask covers all the IPs, so I don't know what's wrong here. Any ideas?

Can you ping the console from any of the machines on the LAN? If some work and some don't, check the firewalls on those that can't access it. You may have to reconfigure or disable them to access the box. Also, you didn't mention what router you've got, so I'm guessing there could be an in-built firewall there that's screwing up your traffic.
