My PC has started giving me a serious headaches. Up until last week, everything was OK. But since then it just shuts down from time to time for no apparent reason. I’m running XP, sp2 on ASUS P4P800-E Delux with Intel P4 3 GHz and my hd is Maxtor 160 Gb SATA. Any ideas on what might be happening to my PC?

This sort of things often happens because of the overheating. It may be that your cooler is broken. I think it would be best for you to take it to the repair shop instead of trying to fix this yourself. Other than this, there’s not enough info in your post to conclude what’s going on. Have you been adding some components recently or making any changes to your system?
