This used laptop of mine worked OK up until a few days ago. Now, for some reason, it won’t start at all. When I press Power, it just sits there, no sounds, no nothing. The little battery light flashes, but I had the battery fully charged already, so that’s not it. No change when I plug it in to DC directly. Anyone had a similar problem? Some advice?

Check to see if the CMOS by clearing it. Remove the CMOS battery (not the main one), leave it out for a while, put it back in, then turn the machine back on. If clearing the CMOS doesn’t do the trick, you could try flashing your BIOS. Go to the manufacturer’s website, download the latest version, and follow instructions it gives you to update the existing BIOS.
