I have Sony CD-RW. I have it for some time(2 or 3 years I am not sure). Yesterday when I tried to burn some disk, it started to act strange. I heard strange noise, it stopped on 60 or 70 , and freezes. So definitely my cd-rw drive is acting strange. What should I do? Where to look for problem?

You have your CD-RW for a long time. So, there can be many reasons for its strange behavior. It can be that the laser is dead, so you must buy another CD-RW drive. But it can also mean that the laser is only dirty so you will have to clean it. Other thing, have you tried only one disc? Maybe the disk was bad, so that was your problem. You try with some other disk. If the problem continues, than something is wrong with your drive. I really dont suggest you to try fixing the old one, because it is much better to buy a new one. Especially because they are very cheap.
