I need to remove the drivers for my Audigy sound card, but I can't seem to do it. When I uninstall them using the device manager, they just come back the next time I restart!
I tried like a dozen times, in different ways, but nothing I do seems to work. And if I just install the new version of the drivers on top of the old one, the card won't produce sound! What do I do now? |

If I was a betting man, I'd say your sound card was supported by Windows, and is therefore auto-installed every time you boot up the system. Are you sure you don't see the "found new hardware" bubble pop up in the system tray? In any case, to circumvent this just disable your sound card before you restart next time (right-click, choose "disable"), then enable it only when you're ready to install new ones.
