Most recent games have high definition audio effects and players need a good PC gaming headset to ensure optimal gaming experience. Here are the tips how to choose.

Two main requirements for good game headset are Comfort and Sound Quality. They, however, also have important part that will be mentioned and described one by one.

Comfort

First requirement that every headset has to satisfy is Comfort. Headsets can provide with great quality of sound, but if they’re heavy and robust, they won’t be favorite choice.

To check if the headset is comfortable, you must look at following aspects:

Earcups must be big enough to cover your ears; padding must be soft and thick; headband must be adjustable to suit the size of your head and most of all, headset shouldn’t be too heavy.

Length of the headset’s cable is one of the options that are necessary for comfortable playing. Make sure that you have enough cable to lean back in your armchair and enjoy the game. Nose pressed on the screen is not fun, right?

Second thing regarding the cable is Volume Control. Make sure that you have one, otherwise you’ll be forced to abandon your ‘comfy chair’ each time you have to adjust the volume. That can reflect your gameplay as well.

If you don’t like to bother with cables, then Wireless Headset is the right solution for you. Wireless gaming headsets use Bluetooth or RF technology. However, wireless headsets might be more prone to noise interference and loss of signal during the transmission. That interference often means static, pops or annoying noise.

One plus for the gaming headset choice is certainly a Microphone which will allow interaction during gameplay. In other words, if you like to chat or even yell on your team mates, this option is a must.

Sound Quality

Quality of the sound is the next requirement that good headset has to fulfill. Here are the few steps you should follow in determining the good sound quality.

First of all sound must be clear, without cracking.

Bass must be significant, but not too loud to ‘kill’ the high tones.

Surround Sound is one of the additional requirements that can improve your gameplay experience and bring the necessary dose of reality in the game, especially if you choose 5.1 headsets, which will give a real dimension to the sound.

One of the additional, but very useful sound options is Noise Cancellation.
Noise canceling headsets are special headphones designed to block outside noises to improve the quality of your listening and gaming experience.
This means that you don’t have to crank up the volume on and put your hearing in danger. Noise cancellation headset will ensure protection from the outside sound sources and will give a better experience during the gameplay.

Some of the new headsets have the Vibrator which is bound to bass or lower frequencies. Their role is to recreate the physical sensation of bass frequencies. The headset vibrates following the low frequencies in the audio signal and gamers both hear and feel the bass.

Those were the basic tips how to choose good and optimal gaming headset. However, choice of headset, as a specific part of hardware, is individual and if one headset has excellent reviews, it doesn’t mean that you’ll like it and that it’ll fit you.

Every gamer has to try many solutions and to choose the best among them.
