When I got back to work this week, I've found that someone's been tempering with my machine, changing all the little settings in Windows that I've tweaked to suit my tastes. I've got most of them restored by now (toolbar auto-hide, font size in Windows, colors, etc.), all except one: For some reason, someone choose to make my mouse cursor flash rapidly, about a dozen times per second as far as I can tell. I've tried resetting this via Control Panel --> Mouse, but it doesn't work, it's still blinking at me like that! Any way to sort this out without bothering the local tech guys, who don't ;ike to be called on for minor situations like this one? Thanks a lot,

Well, the only thing I can think of here is that your mouse uses its own configuration software, which can override the default Windows controls (is it XP, BTW?). If this is the case, you need to locate this config program and either use it to make the adjustments you want, or disable it so that the default controls take over. Start by determining what brand and model mouse you've got installed (Control Panel / System/ Hardware / Device Manager).
