Hey guys, I have a question about Zone Alarm and its wonderful "features" that make my internet connection almost completely useless. So I install it, right, and immediately it starts detecting some attempts at intrusion, and asking if it should block them. Great, I said, go ahead and block the bastards, that's what I'm paying you for. So it does. But now, I can't open a single page in my browser except the ones that were cached before, and my e-mail client won't download messages. I have a wee bit of a suspicion it has something to do with ZA overstepping its boundaries. Any way to deal with this short of uninstalling the bloody thing? Thanks,

Zone Alarm doesn't just "report intrusions", it notifies you of all relevant access requests and asks you what should be done with them. If you saw something like "Mozilla is trying to access the Internet" and clicked "deny access", that's not ZA's fault, it's yours. Fortunately, you can always adjust the program access settings manually. Depending on your version, there should be a tab or window called "Program Control" or something like that. Go there and change "deny" to "allow" for the programs you think you might need to have internet access.
