Hi everyone! I am beginning to learn about administering and fixing PC problems. Because I new in this I would like to hear from someone more experienced what tools are the best and what tools are you using. I understand that there are many program which do, more or less, same things but there must be some applications you like more and use them in everyday work. Your advice will save me a lot of time trying to find out what tools to use. So if you would be so kind please tell me what your computer toolbox is?

No problem. It is not a secret, but you should really try for yourself different tools and see which one fits you best. Some of essential tools for me are EasyRecovery which is used for recovering corrupted data and it saved my life more then once, next is PartitionMagic for manipulating with hard drive partitions. Next there are few DOS programs which can be burned on bootable disc and used when you are not able to access Windows like Norton commander (ancient but useful). Speaking of Norton they have excellent software called Norton Ghost which is used for making images of hard drive and restoring systems in matter of minutes. Also, some Live Linux distribution can come quite handy.
