| I'm trying to set up my Xbox over at my gf's place, but it's not working. All I get is "check cable". I actually did check them again, and what do you know, they were fine. So that’s not it, obviously. What else am I looking at here? Router configuration trouble, maybe? I'm pretty sure I forwarded the ports correctly… |

Maybe, yes. But your router may also just be incompatible with XBL. You can check that here: http://www.xbox.com/LIVE/connect/routers.htm. Also, when it tells you to check cables, it doesn't mean you should just check whether or not you plugged them in ( ). You should also check if the cables are functional (try them on another connection), and whether or not you're using the right kind of cable (straight, not crossover). |
