X-box plays games but not DVD

I’ve read a lot about Xbox not being able to read game discs but mine works fine with games and cannot read DVDs properly. Sometimes it just crashes in the middle of the movie but most of the times it doesn’t even recognize it as a normal DVD but instead my Xbox just hangs. I was wondering if anyone here had similar problems and if there is a solution to it? Thanks!

I think that you need to get the DVD Playback kit in order to view DVD movies on you Xbox. It’s not that expensive and it’s easily added to your system. I think you can get it for 30 $ if you Xbox is still under warranty which means also that you haven’t been opening it or modding it in any way. But even when you buy this DVD kit, it will probably have trouble reading RW DVDs. I hope this helps you!
