| Hi everybody! I had some problems with my Xp and I decide to reinstall it. What a mistake. No I cant install it at all. I am using the service pack 2 and Norton Antivirus. I mean I use to use it. So here is what is happening. I reboot and go directly to BIOS. There I choose boot from cd drive option, and reboot again. I wait and I wait and I wait but I cannot get to the blue installation screen. I reboot and wait again, but nothing happens. I can only see the checking for system. option. What did I do wrong? |

| You didnt set up your BIOS. Did you choose save and restart option when you were leaving BIOS? Reboot and do everything once again. Check if your cd drive is set up to be default drive. Then, as I told you select save and reboot option. Your system got stuck because you didnt save you BIOS settings. Sometimes its the silliest thing, you see. You mentioned Norton Antivirus. If I can give you an advice, dont use that. It can cause your system to be unstable, and it can damage some of your system files. I prefer Kaspersky because XP is better match for it. Maybe the Norton was cause for your system failure. It wouldnt be the first time to hear that. When you install Windows uncheck auto-protect option because you will set it up in Antivirus software. That is my advice. |
