| I bought new computer few months ago. However, I recently realized that my hard drive is a bit small. I need some extra space and for that reason, I bought new SATA disk yesterday. When I plug it in my computer, XP doesn't recognize my new SATA disk. I don't know what to do. |

| First, check did you connect signal and power cables well on both end. If that so, then try to reconnect your SATA disk to another SATA connector on your motherboard. Also check, does your motherboard support your type of SATA hard disk. I mean that your disk may be SATA2 and your motherboard may support only SATA1 disks. If that is your problem, the only thing you could do is to replace your SATA disk for some with SATA1 standard. Also, check is your motherboard SATA support enabled in your BIOS. The last thing that could be is that your motherboard needs some special drivers to be installed for SATA. |
