The subject says it all, really. I'm probably getting an external USB drive, but I'm gonna have to rethink if it turns out it won't be able to hook to my GF's PC as easily as to my iMac. I've heard there were some compatibility issues, but nothing concrete. So, are these just rumours or what?

Depends on the drive and the box, I'd say. What exactly are you looking to get? I know a lot of people had complains about their YSB drives disagreeing with Macs, but as usual, most of those complaints were due to poor user handling, and the RTFM syndrome. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure that Mac + ext USB problems were more
